| When You Don’t
Have Time for the Gym
I don’t
know about you, but there are days my tight schedule cancels out
my gym time and it does not matter that particular day whether it’s
morning, noon, or night. Just too much to do! Although the gym is
always a part of my planned daily routine, sometimes I have to make
alternative plans for working out because of unforeseen situations.
Since educating and motivating people to adapt a healthier lifestyle
is not only my business, but also my passion, I strive to be a good
role model. It is important to exercise no matter what’s going
on in your life. Physical activity helps reduce the risk of breast
cancer, colon cancer, heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes,
obesity, anxiety, depression; the list goes on and on… As
far as I know, I am healthy and will do whatever it takes to keep
fit.
I use different techniques when I exercise at home and want to
share some of them with you. If you try any of these for your at-home
program, keep safety in mind and start slow.
- Bicep curls (use canned goods or free weights)
- Chair exercises
- Floor work (leg lifts, stretching)
- Jump rope
- Push-ups
- Standing Cross Punch
- Standing Crunch (can use a broom handle for assistance)
- Wall squats (use body ball for balance)
- Walk/run up and down your stairs
As you can see, you don’t need gym equipment to exercise.
Depending on what you want to accomplish, any of the above mentioned
exercises could help you to stay motivated until you go back to
the gym.
